Your CD Collection Is Not Finished With You.

The Rotel RCD-1572MKII CD player pairs a 32-bit Texas Instruments DAC with a low-noise power supply and balanced XLR analog outputs. The albums on your shelf do not become less worth hearing because another way to play music comes along. But when familiar recordings sound flat or crowded, it is easy to stop reaching for them.

The RCD-1572MKII gives those discs a dedicated place in a serious stereo system. Its engineering focuses on reducing unwanted noise and distortion while preserving detail, clarity and the sense of space and depth within a recording. The aim is not to make old favourites sound unfamiliar. It is to keep their musical character easy to follow.

Care Where the Music Becomes Analog

A Quiet Foundation

An ultra-low-noise toroidal transformer is manufactured in-house by Rotel. Electrical and physical isolation of the circuitry helps reduce unwanted distortion and lower the noise floor. That attention matters when the recording moves from a full arrangement to a fading note, or when a quieter instrument sits behind the main vocal.

Conversion and Balanced Output

A Texas Instruments 32-bit DAC provides digital-to-analog conversion with accurate frequency response. Fully balanced differential XLR analog outputs offer a connection to compatible balanced equipment, while RCA analog outputs accommodate conventional amplifier inputs. The DAC specification describes the converter, not the resolution of the music stored on a CD.

A Choice of System Connections

RCA and balanced XLR analog outputs are joined by a coaxial digital output. Use the analog outputs to hear the player's internal conversion, or connect the coaxial digital output to a compatible external DAC. These are distinct signal paths: the digital output does not pass through the player's analog conversion stage.

Built Around the Collection You Already Own

The RCD-1572MKII continues Rotel’s tradition of award-winning CD players dating back to 1989. With more than 200 billion CDs sold worldwide, the format holds an enormous library of music worth returning to. Rotel’s classic, refined approach keeps the focus on playing that collection with detail and clarity rather than adding distractions.

For an audition, bring a disc you know well. Follow a bass line through a busy chorus, the placement of a voice and the decay of a quieter instrument. Those familiar musical reference points are more useful than a recording chosen simply to impress.
