Rotel - RC-1590MKII
Let the System Reveal More. Not Add More.
The Rotel RC-1590MKII stereo preamplifier combines separate analog and digital power supplies, DIRECT-PATH analog bypass modes and a Texas Instruments 32-bit/384kHz DAC. A powerful amplifier and revealing speakers can only work with the signal they receive. When voices lose their natural character or a busy recording feels crowded, the answer is not always further down the chain.
The RC-1590MKII puts the focus on preserving that signal before power amplification. Its design brings analog and digital sources together with attention to noise, distortion and circuit routing, pursuing natural expression, dynamic clarity and a wide, open soundstage.
Separation Where It Matters
Dedicated Supplies for Analog and Digital
Dual toroidal transformers are manufactured in-house by Rotel and physically and electrically isolated. They provide dedicated analog and digital supply voltages through low-ESR slit-foil capacitors. This separation is intended to keep unwanted noise and distortion away from critical circuitry, establishing a quiet foundation for small audio signals.
A More Direct Analog Route
DIRECT-PATH bypass modes remove unnecessary circuits from the analog signal path. The purpose is to maintain signal integrity and reduce opportunities for noise and distortion. Rather than adding complexity for its own sake, the RC-1590MKII offers an approach that leaves less circuitry between the source and the next stage when bypass is selected.
Digital Conversion With a Tuned Output Stage
A Texas Instruments 32-bit/384kHz DAC works with proprietary, acoustically tuned external output-filter circuits. The converter and surrounding circuitry are designed to preserve fine detail, clarity and precise positioning within the soundstage. PC-USB supports 32-bit/384kHz playback alongside MQA unfolding and rendering, while Roon Tested certification supports use with Roon software.
A Control Centre for a Separates System
Keep Every Format in Play
Moving magnet phono, analog, digital and balanced XLR inputs are joined by aptX and AAC Bluetooth. A compatible MM-equipped turntable can connect directly, while wired sources, computer playback and wireless listening have their own routes into the system. The preamplifier accommodates different listening habits without making one format the reason to give up another.
Outputs With Room to Build
Dual RCA and XLR output connections support flexible installations, including suitable bi-amplification arrangements. A subwoofer output is also included. The RC-1590MKII feeds power amplification; it does not drive passive speakers directly. Plan the connections around the capabilities of the amplifiers, speakers and subwoofer in the complete system.
The RC-1590MKII continues Rotel’s 60-year design heritage, with a focus on performance, value and build quality. Bring a recording you know well when you audition. Follow the bass, the voice and the quieter layers as the arrangement becomes busier, and listen for how naturally they hold their places.
