Rotel - RC-1572MKII
Before the Power, Preserve the Performance.
The Rotel RC-1572MKII stereo preamplifier combines a low-noise power supply, a 32-bit Texas Instruments DAC and a moving magnet phono stage. A capable power amplifier cannot recover musical detail already obscured upstream. If a system sounds crowded or less expressive than it should, the component selecting and controlling the signal deserves as much attention as the one driving the speakers.
The RC-1572MKII brings analog, digital and wireless sources together with acoustic upgrades and circuit refinements focused on clarity, dynamic detail and a natural, enveloping soundstage. It is a preamplifier for a separates system, designed to feed a suitable power amplifier rather than drive passive speakers directly.
A Quiet Foundation for Small Signals
Power-Supply Engineering Matters Here, Too
A large, in-house manufactured toroidal transformer feeds a bank of low-ESR slit-foil capacitors. The transformer design reduces stray radiated emissions, while the capacitor bank supplies stable current to sensitive circuitry. This ultra-low-noise power-supply approach is directed at reducing noise and distortion before the signal reaches your power amplifier.
Conversion With Care Beyond the DAC
A Texas Instruments 32-bit DAC works with custom-tuned, proprietary external output filters. These circuits support the RC-1572MKII’s focus on dynamic detail and musical expression. PC-USB accepts digital media up to 32-bit/384kHz and supports MQA, while Roon Tested certification supports use with Roon software.
Your Collection, Connected
From Records to Digital Files
Analog, digital and balanced XLR inputs are joined by a moving magnet phono stage and aptX and AAC Bluetooth. A compatible MM-equipped turntable can connect directly, while wired digital sources and wireless playback have their own routes into the system. CDs, digital files and vinyl can remain part of the same listening setup without forcing one format to replace another.
Outputs That Fit a Separates System
RCA, XLR and subwoofer outputs provide installation flexibility. Match the preamplifier connection to your power amplifier and plan subwoofer integration around the rest of your equipment. Ethernet and RS232 connections support control-system integration and software updates.
Control Without Fuss
The included remote and front-panel display handle everyday operation. Automatic power controls, signal sensing, fixed-volume settings and tone adjustments let you tailor operation to the installation and your listening preferences.
For an audition, use a familiar recording with bass, a clearly recorded voice and quieter accompaniment. Follow how those elements retain their character as the arrangement fills out. That is a more useful reference than treating detail as something separate from the music.
