Hear More of the Album.

The Rotel CD14MKII CD player combines a 32-bit Texas Instruments DAC with carefully separated power supplies and custom-tuned analog output filters. A favourite album should hold your attention from the opening track to the last fading note. When quieter parts get lost behind a busy arrangement, it is tempting to blame the recording and move on.

The CD14MKII addresses what happens inside the player instead. Its MKII upgrades focus on the power supply, circuit-board layout and audio components, reducing unwanted noise and distortion in pursuit of more accurate reproduction and richer, genuine detail. It is a dedicated way to keep the collection you already own at the centre of your listening.

The Work Behind the Playback

Keep the Motor Out of the Music

Independent voltage and current power supplies feed the DAC’s digital and analog circuits. Alongside circuit-board layout isolation techniques, this design helps keep motor-control activity away from sensitive audio circuitry. The aim is to reduce unwanted noise and distortion rather than ask the audio stages to work around them.

Conversion Is More Than a Number

A Texas Instruments 32-bit DAC works with custom-tuned external analog output filters. New acoustically tuned audio components and refinements to the printed circuit board support the MKII’s approach to accurate, detailed playback. The 32-bit specification describes the converter, not the resolution of the music stored on a CD.

Simple Operation, Flexible Use

A smooth tray-loading CD mechanism and included remote keep everyday playback straightforward. A coaxial digital output also lets the CD14MKII serve as a transport for a compatible external DAC. The 12V trigger input provides a connection for coordinated operation with compatible equipment.

A Collection Worth Keeping in Play

The CD14MKII continues more than 30 years of Rotel CD-player development. That lineage includes the critically acclaimed RCD-855 introduced in 1989 and a tradition of award-winning players. With more than 200 billion CDs sold worldwide, there is no shortage of music for a thoughtfully engineered CD player to bring back into regular rotation.

Bring a familiar disc when you visit. Listen to the bass line under a full chorus, the character of the voice and the quieter accompaniment around it. Those are the musical details that make an album worth playing again, not just a specification worth reading.
